On 23rd July 2024, 6 OCES students attended the scuba diving course following the instruction of a coach at the HKUST outdoor swimming pool. They learnt how to scuba dive so that they can be well-equipped with diving skill for future ocean exploration, for example, conducting reef checks in the ocean. Through reef check, data on coral reef status can be obtained allowing them to be managed on local and regional scales. Read more

We are thrilled to share that the Research Grants Council (RGC) has released the results for the General Research Fund (GRF) and Early Career Scheme (ECS) for the 2024/25 cycle. Our department has achieved a remarkable success rate of over 60%, with 9 GRF and 1 ECS projects being awarded, with the total awarded amount over HK$10 million.  Congratulations to all awarded projects!
