2026-05-18

On May 18, 2026, our Department was pleased to host Dr. Marina Levy for a symposium on the Starfish Barometer. Dr. Levy explored how this innovative tool powerfully bridged scientific understanding of ocean conditions with their interdependence on humanity, illustrating its value as an essential resource for policymakers, educators, and the public.

Following her introduction to the Starfish Barometer, the subsequent Q&A session offered our students a valuable opportunity to delve deeper into her experiences. Dr. Marina Levy generously shared the formative stages of her career as a scientist, illuminating the critical importance of education in sustaining our oceans.
