Prof. Yun Tian is a Professor at the School of Life Sciences, Xiamen University, specializing in microbial ecology and microbial physiology. She holds a Ph.D. in Microbiology from Xiamen University and has expanded her expertise through international research roles in South Korea and the United States. Her laboratory utilizes advanced targeted-culturomic, genomic, and metabolomic approaches to investigate the ecology, physiology, and genomics of natural microbial processes, with a particular focus on community-driven carbon and nitrogen cycles and the degradation of organic pollutants. Prof. Tian’s research actively applies these foundational discoveries to practical environmental solutions, such as bioremediation, controlling water eutrophication, and reducing greenhouse gas emissions.
