Being a part of the 2024 Summer Bootcamp for nonlocal students, OCES department has provided a talk, an lecture and a workshop to the non-local high school students from Indonesia, Philippines and Thailand etc on 17th July 2024.
The talk introduced the Ocean Science and BSc in Ocean Science & Technology Program including internship and exchange experiences of the program. The topic of Marine Litter and Microplastics in Hong Kong was discussed in the lecture where students learnt the types of plastics and feasible solutions to solve plastic problem in ocean. The workshop included experiments of microplastics and edible cups for replacing plastic cups. Students were given opportunity to discover the microplastics in the sample and create edible materials.
