Under Dr. Cindy Lam's guidance, OCES3330 students delved into our local wetlands (e.g. Kei Ling Ha Lo Wai, Sai Kung) during Fall 2022. Regular field surveys provided hands-on experience in investigating the diversity and abundance of local flora and fauna. These explorations enriched students' understanding of marine organisms and habitats, and the critical role they play in our environment, underscoring the theories covered in lectures. The surveys also illuminated the relevance of conservation efforts. This practical application of experimental methods developed in the laboratory formed a vital part of the students' academic journey, while contributing to local conservation efforts.
