On February 7, 2025, the Department of Ocean Science hosted its first Spring Dinner at China Garden, HKUST, celebrating the Year of the Snake. All OCES faculty members, staff, and students were invited to attend.
This year’s Spring Dinner featured a special highlight: the presentation of the Undergraduate (UG) Dean’s List and Postgraduate (PG) Research Achievement Awards. These awards recognized the outstanding academic performance of our students throughout the past semester. They not only honoured the individual achievements of the awardees but also inspired fellow students to pursue excellence in their academic endeavours. Following the award presentation, the Ocean Science Students' Club (OCESSC) took the opportunity to introduce themselves to all faculty members and attendees. This moment served as a valuable platform for the club to deliver their mission, goals, plans for the upcoming semester.
Students enjoyed an evening filled with delicious food, engaging conversations, and the opportunity to connect with peers and faculty members. The dinner also featured an exciting lucky draw session, offering students the chance to win various prizes. We hope that this event can highlighted the achievements of our students and strengthened the bonds within our academic community.
