We are thrilled to announce the successful launch of the Ocean Science Alumni Association, a dynamic new initiative aimed at fostering connections among graduates of the BSc in Environmental Science (ENVS) and BSc in Ocean Science and Technology (OST) programs. This association is designed to strengthen our community and provide invaluable support to our alumni network.
The Executive Committee is proudly led by Mr. Donald FUNG, an ENVS graduate from the class of 2018, who serves as the founding Chairperson. He is joined by Ms. Yanny YUNG (ENVS Class of 2019) and Ms. Taylor LI (OST Class of 2024). Together, with the dedicated support of the Department of Ocean Science (OCES) faculty and staff, they are committed to cultivating a vibrant alumni network that celebrates our shared experiences and fosters lifelong connections.
The day commenced with a delightful buffet brunch at UniQue on the HKUST campus, where attendees gathered to reconnect and reminisce. Prof. Jianping Gan, Head of the Department of Ocean Science, delivered an inspiring welcome speech, sharing valuable insights into the evolving field of marine science and encouraging alumni to stay engaged with the community.
Following the brunch, participants had the opportunity to unleash their creativity in a Neon Workshop. Led by skilled instructors, attendees learned the art of bending and installing neon tubes, crafting their own unique and eye-catching signs in marine life-inspired shapes. The workshop was not only a fun and engaging experience but also a chance to express their passion for the ocean in a creative way.
