The Department of Ocean Science at HKUST will organize a 3.5 days summer course on Marine Ecology and Conservation in July 2024, in order to increase students' understanding about Hong Kong marine ecology and marine biodiversity and to promote the importance of marine education. The course comprises interactive lectures, group discussions, field studies and laboratory experiments. Nomination from the school teacher is required.

Target:  Local Secondary 4 and 5 students
Enrollment:  Each school may nominate up to 3 students
Fee:  Free of charge

Notes:

Outdoor activity of the day will be cancelled or terminated if Thunderstorm Warning, Amber Rainstorm Warning (or above), or Strong Wing Signal No. 3 (or above) is hoisted by the Hong Kong Observatory.

Activity may also be cancelled or terminated if heavy rain or unstable weather condition occurs 2 hours before or during the activity, even without the above adverse weather condition warning from the Hong Kong Observatory.

Certificates of Attendance will be issued to those students with attendance rates of 80% or above.
